Cydolfus Celadon

One of the founding members of the Sunyshore CybirdZ and former star player for the Celadon Cybirds, Cydolfus is excited to get back into the Citrus League and show how much he and his teammates have grown since the inaugural season. As de facto team captain of the CybirdZ, she was ready with a message for us to deliver: "Me, Ari, and Viona, we've come a long way since back then. The Cybirds may have finished last in their first interregional season and dissolved shortly after, but the three of us have stuck together and become stronger than we ever imagined we could be! Get ready, Citrus League, cause we're makin' a comeback whether you like it or not!"

Ari "Magnetdude"
they/them
Another of the founding members of the Sunyshore CybirdZ and former player for the Celadon Cybirds, Ari has a self-described 'magnetic' personality, that really draws in others. They act as the emotional core of the CybirdZ, and make sure each player feels welcomed as part of the crew. It's rumoured that Ari's deep bonds with fellow players Cydolfus and Viona is what kept them together after their first team went belly-up, so we have them to thank for the CybirdZ's formation.

Don Viona
she/her
Last but not least of the founding members, Don Viona was also a player for the Celadon Cybirds. While typically very reserved, close friends of Viona say she has a hidden wild side, and never turns down a dare. When making team decisions, Viona is often the last to respond, but she always delivers wisdom that wins over the others. Her strong influence in the team has earned her the semi-facetious title of 'Don', though she's far kinder than the name would have you think.

The Hammer
she/her
The first of many rookie players who have joined the CybirdZ, The Hammer is perhaps one of the most promising. While not the fastest or toughest player out there, The Hammer is unbelievably strong, supposedly able to benchpress multiple teammates at once. Her fearsome power is sure to be felt by opponents caught under her glare. She's known for her catchphrase: "When you're The Hammer, everything looks like a nail."

Charles Bronzen
they/he
Another promising rookie, Charles is an all-rounder with talents in both physical and special moves. While they may not be the best in any of their roles, Charles' versatility is sure to land him on the roster quite a few times this season. They may move slow, and can't fly high, but this "mon" is one bell of a guy.

Jan Mehgo
he/him
Compared to teammate Charles, rookie Jan is a skilled specialist at one thing: dishing out high-speed hits. When Jan really gets going, it's hard to slow him down, and he's ready to bring his speed to the Citrus League alongside the CybirdZ. Unfortunately, we didn't get much time to talk with Jan, as he had to run off mid-interview to complete his daily training schedule.

Majiko~♡
she/her
The first thing Majiko~♡ told us in her interview was how important it was that we stylize her name properly. The second thing she told us was how excited she was for the upcoming season! Ghost types have long filled an important niche in many Citrus League teams, and Majiko~♡ is thrilled that she was picked to fill this position for the CybirdZ. "I hope I get the chance to no-sell an explosion on the big stage! Ooh, It's gonna be so fun~!"

Queen Hydrangea
she/her
While she may only be a queen to her Combee swarm, Hydrangea is no less fitting of the title. Her royal conduct may seem like overconfidence, but her unexpected prowess in battle truly demands respect. While she's a bit snooty to others, Queen Hydrangea always makes sure that her swarm are loved and cared for, and it sounds like she's quickly warming on her teammates as well.

Ronnie Thompson
they/them
With the relative rarity of Rotom players in the sport, Ronnie was a sought-after player for their unique form-swapping talents. What may surprise you then is that Ronnie wasn't scouted by the CybirdZ, rather they actually approached the organization first after hearing of their for-the-players attitude. They elaborated, "Being a Rotom, I'm not worried about getting on a team. The real question is if my team will treat me like a person or just an item. My mates on the CybirdZ are really great and fun to be around, I couldn't have picked a better squad!"

Rosemary N. Thyme
she/he
The self-proclaimed 'Most Handsome Player of the Sunyshore CybirdZ', Rosemary may seem vain, but the truth is he simply idealizes beauty. Rosemary can see the inner beauty in others such as her teammates, and hopes that she can bring that inner beauty outside as well. As for battle, his philosophy still holds: "My elegant and dashing moves shall leave them blinded! Even the Sun's life-giving rays cannot hold a candle to my radiance! Ohohohoho~!"

One O'Eight
depends on who's fronting
A plural system with 108 alters (by their own count), we only had the chance to speak with a few of them. Most of the interview was with Espi, who was quite kind and welcoming. When asked "Why CybirdZ?" she responded: "Many of us have been interested in league play for a while, but were worried about being accepted. You don't see many folks like us out there, y'know. But after hearing about the CybirdZ's progressive and positive vibes, we decided to shoot our shot and apply, and you can guess what happened next!" Other alters also offered comment, all sharing a common theme of excitement for the upcoming season.

Qrow Bentley
he/him
Described as a trickster and a heel, Qrow is a player infamous for his seemingly supernatural luck, being able to pull out surprise knockouts against those who by all means had him cornered. With a track record like Qrow's though, many fans are quick to say its more than just good fortune. Whether he is truly blessed by forces beyond our comprehension or not, Qrow is ready to hype up the Citrus League crowd with his tricks and cunning plays this coming season.

Drak the Peon
he/him
Drak is a man who knows what he is and owns it. By his own admittance, he's not particularly smart, and has a tendency to be a follower rather than a leader, but WOW is he strong. His claws are particularly adept at finding and exacerbating pressure points to deal massive damage even against seemingly impenetrable targets, which he very enthusiastically showcased in our interview by chugging his glass bottle of Combee-Cola before shattering it to pieces with a mere flex.

R.R. Slugger
he/him
Slugger first learned of the Citrus League from the promotional NihiLEGO sets that came out a few seasons ago. As a hobbyist battler and someone who yearns for new experiences, Slugger saw the Citrus League as an exciting opportunity to see the world, and so after a training arc to reach inter-regional play standards he landed a spot on the Sunyshore CybirdZ. "It's funny how a small leisure thing like NihiLEGOs can lead to such dramatic turns in your life. A few years ago I never would have imagined I'd be here now doing this! Life is wild..."

Lex the Vile
she/they
Our final interviewee and a very fresh player, Lex had cleared tryouts and officially made the team just hours before our interview. Still riding the adrenaline rush of landing the final spot on the starting roster, she struggled to enunciate much besides just how much she's worked for this and how grateful she is to the CybirdZ for taking her in. With Electivire being one of Sunyshore Gym's iconic members, Lex has high expectations to live up to, but we have hope that their determination will shine through and be a beacon of light showcasing our electric Sunyshore culture to the world.
