story

  • Born in a 'commoner' family in Gelmorra, Marionne wasn't particularly well-off. As the eldest daughter of three children, she often acted as a de-facto mother to her younger siblings while her parents were working hard to pay the bills, taking on the role of patching up clothes, buying groceries, etc.
  • On what was an otherwise routine grocery shopping trip, she ran into a dashing young man around her age named Percevain. They became fast friends, their relationship later growing to love. When they were older, the two moved in together and started a family, with Percevain as the main bread-maker and Marionne as a homebody, supplementing their income with weaving. A few years into living together, they had a child.
  • When their child was five, a small cave-in happened near the district of Gelmorra they lived in, and they deemed the area too dangerous to raise a child in. They moved to Gridania, but Percevain faced heavy prejudice, unable to hold down a job. With Gridania not working, they took a chance and moved once more to Limsa Lominsa, where Marionne works as a housewife and weaver, tailoring outfits and occasionally crafting garments wholesale.

personality

  • Generally mellow and humble, grateful for the life that she has.
  • Pretty shy and somewhat agoraphobic, leading to her tendency to stay at home when the choice is offered.
  • A romantic and a dreamer, deeply loves her husband, very interested in the love lifes of acquiantances. Reads too many romance novels in her spare time.
  • Suddenly becomes very passionate when the topic of her weaving comes up, especially if someone has interest in commissioning an outfit from her.

other

  • Gets lonely easily, when it gets particularly bad she gets homesick for Gelmorra. Typically fights it by using her linkpearl to chat with her family.
  • Wears prescription lenses to help her eyesight. Didn't used to need them, but decades of staring at tiny threads and needles has strained her eyes to the point they're necessary to see much of anything in detail.
