backstory
- Dianne is the daughter of two Duskwight elezen who lived in Gelmorra in the Black Shroud. At a young age their family home got trashed by elementals, and after trying and failing to live peacefully in Gridania amongst the Wildwood for a few years, they bailed on the Shroud and journeyed to Limsa Lominsa searching for a new life.
- Once in Limsa, Dianne's father got a job as a deckhand for a trade ship, while her mother stayed at home to take care of Dianne. On one occasion her father's shipment was stolen by pirates, but was returned safely by the Rogue's guild. Upon learning of the Rogue's guild and their code, Dianne decided to join them, and she picked up roguery and knifeplay.
- After a while of working alongside the Guild, Dianne registered as an adventurer, and would get swept up in helping and later joining the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.
- While working with the Scions she spent a lot of time in Thanalan since the Waking Sands was there, and used the free time to visit Ul'Dah, where she picks up thaumaturgy and uses it to augment her knifework with ice, lightning, and fire magics.
- After the betrayal of the Crystal Braves she is branded an outcast and forced into hiding, staying in Ishgard. The xenophobic attitude of the Ishgardians triggers bad memories from her time in Gridania, where she received similar treatment from being a Duskwight.
- Desperate for any friends in the city she joins the Athaeneum Astrologium, since their members are similarly hated by the general Ishgardian public and they welcome her with open arms. Learns some astromancy from them and further enhances her fighting style with it, mainly channeling nocturnal aether for healing.
- Begins travelling alongside Alphinaud, Estinien, and Ysayle. Bonds with Ysayle over their mutual oppression and sides with her to help take down the Ishgardian hegemony.
- Assists in the Ala Mhigan and Doman liberation campaigns alongside the other Scions.
- Is summoned to the First and experiences a minor crisis from how badly the light affects her, with the light-infused sky being physically painful to look at. Furthers her affinities with nocturnal aether and darkness in order to combat the drowning effects of the Light. Alongside the other scions she defeats the Lightwardens and brings night back to the First.
- Continues to work alongside the Scions of the Seventh Dawn until their dissolution. Returns to being an independent adventurer aiming to help the broken world, with goals of hopefully ending Duskwight oppression and restoring Gelmorra and Duskwight culture.
